The Stark State College Automotive Aftermarket Vehicle Modifications Career Enhancement Certificate courses are designed to prepare the student for the fast-growing area of vehicle modifications using aftermarket components and procedures. Students will practice new technical skills while being introduced to the business side of the aftermarket industry. Upon completion of the classes listed below, students will be prepared to work at a new or used car dealership’s accessories department, work at an independent or franchised aftermarket shop, or possibly start their own aftermarket vehicle modifications business

Program Learning Outcomes
This program is designed to prepare students to demonstrate the following learning outcomes:
- Students will develop the skills to assess, design, and install aftermarket modifications that enhance vehicle performance, including engine tuning, exhaust systems, and forced induction components. Graduates will demonstrate the ability to balance performance upgrades with reliability and regulatory compliance.
- Graduates will gain proficiency in modifying vehicle suspension and braking systems, including the installation of aftermarket lift kits, lowering kits, high-performance brake components, and custom wheel setups. Emphasis will be placed on ensuring vehicle safety, handling, and alignment with manufacturer and industry standards.
- Students will be able to install and integrate aftermarket electronic systems, including advanced audio systems, custom lighting, security systems, and vehicle infotainment upgrades. This includes ensuring proper wiring, circuit protection, and compatibility with existing vehicle systems.
- Graduates will develop expertise in performing aftermarket aesthetic modifications such as body kits, window tinting, and interior customization. Students will learn to execute these modifications while maintaining quality craftsmanship and attention to detail in line with industry best practices.
