Automotive Technology (AAS)

Stark State College’s automotive technology two-year associate degree program gives you a solid foundation in the automotive technical skills and the academic classes you need to advance your automotive career – fast. With an emphasis on technology, academics and hands-on application, you'll progress through a logical course sequence that includes domestic and import vehicles.

Program Learning Outcomes

This program is designed to prepare students to demonstrate the following learning outcomes:

  • Apply critical thinking skills to effectively diagnose automobiles with various faults. 
  • Effectively communicate in a work environment. This includes both written and oral communication. 
  • Apply the skills that they learned in the program to perform service procedures on vehicles. 
  • Navigate GM SI (General Motors Electronic Service Information) to view Technical Service Bulletins, Vehicle Recall Information, Vehicle Service History, and Vehicle Service Information. The student will be able to find and comprehend information.
