The Honda PACT certificate is designed exclusively for the student who is seeking a career as a service technician at a Honda/Acura dealership. The Honda PACT curriculum combines Stark State College NATEF accredited automotive classes and Honda-specific curriculum that is produced by American Honda Motor Company, Inc. The Honda-specific classes provide Honda’s core certification modules that are needed for advancement at a Honda/Acura dealership.
The Honda PACT classes are a blend of classroom theory and hands-on lab assignments. The Honda PACT classes are scheduled to run on selected Fridays throughout the semester, including the summer, and are a full day in length.

Program Learning Outcomes
This program is designed to prepare students to demonstrate the following learning outcomes:
- Students will gain expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Honda engine systems, including engine performance and emissions control. Graduates will utilize Honda-specific diagnostic tools and follow ASE and manufacturer standards to ensure optimal engine operation, fuel efficiency, and compliance with emissions regulations.
- Graduates will demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex Honda electrical and electronic systems, including battery management, ignition systems, sensors, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Students will interpret wiring diagrams and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) using Honda-specific equipment to ensure vehicle safety and functionality.
- Students will develop skills in diagnosing and repairing Honda brake systems, including anti-lock braking systems (ABS), as well as steering and suspension systems. Graduates will ensure precise handling, braking performance, and vehicle stability through proper maintenance and alignment of these systems.
- Graduates will be proficient in diagnosing and repairing Honda transmission and drivetrain systems, including both automatic and manual transmissions, differentials, and transaxles. Emphasis will be placed on using Honda’s proprietary diagnostic tools to resolve shifting, power transfer, and drivability issues, while following ASE certification standards for excellence in repair.
