Mathematics-Pre-Actuarial Math (ASC)

Stark State’s pre‑actuarial mathematics associate degree prepares you with the mathematical and analytical foundation needed for careers or further education in actuarial science and related fields.

You’ll develop the skills to analyze data, solve complex problems, and understand financial risk. The program combines mathematics, statistics, business, and economics to prepare you for entry‑level roles or transfer to a bachelor’s program in actuarial science, mathematics, or quantitative finance.

Because of the strong emphasis on science in this major, applicants must have successfully completed chemistry and biology in high school. Students who did not complete the courses in high school, and those who prefer to refresh their knowledge of the material, should complete the listed pre-requisites.

A student may take MTH125 College Algebra and MTH130 Trigonometry over two semesters to satisfy this requirement.
