The Toyota T-TEN Regional program is designed to prepare students to become technicians at Toyota and Lexus dealerships. Certified Toyota T-TEN instructors will provide students with access to Toyota vehicle technology through curriculum designed by the University of Toyota and accredited by the National Automotive Technicians Educational Foundation (NATEF). Students successfully completing the Toyota
T-TEN Regional Program Electrical, Manual Transmission, and HVAC Career Enhancement Certificate from Stark State College will be prepared to take three ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certification Tests
(A-3, A-6, and A-7). The program structure also allows ample time for students to attend classes at Stark State College while working at an approved Toyota or Lexus dealership.

Program Learning Outcomes
This program is designed to prepare students to demonstrate the following learning outcomes:

Students will gain the ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain Toyota’s electrical systems, including batteries, starters, alternators, lighting, and vehicle network communication systems, using Toyota diagnostic tools and adhering to manufacturer and industry standards for safety and performance.

Students will acquire proficiency in diagnosing and servicing Toyota HVAC systems, including air conditioning, heating, and ventilation components. This includes the ability to handle refrigerants, replace compressors, condensers, and troubleshoot climate control electronics in compliance with Toyota and environmental regulations.

Graduates will develop the skills to diagnose, repair, and service Toyota manual transmissions and related drivetrain components, including clutches, gear assemblies, and shifting mechanisms. Emphasis will be placed on ensuring precise shifting performance and alignment with Toyota’s mechanical design and operation standards.

Graduates will demonstrate the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues involving the interaction between Toyota electrical systems, manual transmissions, and HVAC components. Students will utilize advanced diagnostic techniques and tools to ensure seamless operation of these integrated systems, enhancing vehicle reliability and passenger comfort.
