The Toyota T-TEN Regional program is designed to prepare students to become technicians at Toyota and Lexus dealerships. Certified Toyota T-TEN instructors will provide students with access to Toyota vehicle technology through curriculum designed by the University of Toyota and accredited by the National Automotive Technicians Educational Foundation (NATEF). Students successfully completing the Toyota T-TEN Regional Program Engine Repair, Engine Control, and Automatic Transmission Career Enhancement Certificate from Stark State College will be prepared to take three ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certification Tests (A-1, A-2, and A-8). The program structure also allows ample time for students to attend classes at Stark State College while working at an approved Toyota or Lexus dealership.

Program Learning Outcomes
This program is designed to prepare students to demonstrate the following learning outcomes:

Students will acquire the skills to diagnose, service, and repair Toyota engines, including the ability to perform component inspections, engine overhauls, and precision machining, ensuring engines meet Toyota’s performance standards and manufacturer specifications.

Graduates will demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and repair Toyota engine control systems, including sensors, actuators, and electronic control modules (ECMs), by interpreting diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and utilizing Toyota’s proprietary diagnostic tools and software.

Students will develop the ability to service, diagnose, and repair automatic transmission systems, including torque converters, planetary gearsets, hydraulic controls, and valve bodies, ensuring proper shifting performance and drivability according to Toyota’s design specifications.

Graduates will be proficient in diagnosing and resolving complex powertrain issues that involve both the engine control and automatic transmission systems, leveraging Toyota’s integrated diagnostics and repair strategies to ensure seamless engine and transmission performance.
