Program Learning Outcomes

This program is designed to prepare students to demonstrate the following learning outcomes:

  • Apply advanced level HTML and CSS techniques to design and create web pages.
  • Implement JavaScript functions, events, control structures, and form validation within a web page.
  • Describe strategies for advanced web site development including utilizing graphic design software, optimizing graphics, addressing accessibility challenges, and creating interactive web sites.
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills by analyzing requirements, designing solutions, and implementing software.
  • Design and implement relational databases by applying normalization principles, defining relationships among tables, and creating entity-relationship diagrams.
  • Demonstrate proficiency using structured query language to define new database objects and manage and manipulate data within a database.
  • Create SQL programming constructs such as views, stored procedures, user-defined functions, indexes, and triggers.
  • Apply best practices to manage a SQL Server instance including configuring users and permissions, automating jobs, importing/exporting data, performing database backups, and analyzing database performance.
