Welding Technology (CERT)

Stark State College's certificate in welding technology covers all mainstream types of welding and layout – from the basics to nuclear and pressure vessel welding. You can choose this program to prepare for AWS certifications, including 3G and 6G testing. We also cover specialty welding, such as titanium, stainless steel and aluminum.

Program Learning Outcomes

This program is designed to prepare students to demonstrate the following learning outcomes:

  • Proficiency of equipment using theory, simulation and associated laboratory trainers and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of drawings and schematics
  • Demonstrate the safe use of welding equipment commonly utilized in 3G, 4G and 6G proceedures.
  • Demonstrate the safe use of welding equipment commonly utilized in TIG proceedures.
  • Demonstrates safe working practices/procedures in an industrial environment
